At Lake Pleasant Farm, our vision extends beyond providing a tranquil eco-retreat; it’s about nurturing a deep connection to the land and demonstrating a truly regenerative way of life. Every detail of our farm stay cabins and operations reflects our commitment to sustainability, embracing local resources, and minimising our environmental footprint.

Sustainable Comfort, Naturally: Passive Design & Off-Grid Living

From the ground up, our cabins are designed with passive solar principles, allowing them to 'breathe with the climate’. This thoughtful design minimises the need for excessive heating or cooling, ensuring comfort while being kind to the planet. We are proudly off-grid, relying entirely on solar power and harvested rainwater for our operations. This means every shower, every light, and every appliance runs on clean, renewable energy, sourced right here on the farm. Our modern eco-design also incorporates composting toilets, further reducing water use and transforming waste into a resource.

The Art of Upcycling and Treasure Hunting

Our commitment to a low environmental footprint goes beyond just utilities. We believe in the power of giving new life to old treasures. As Justine, one of our owners, puts it, "Ever wondered about your environmental footprint? We're on a journey to lighten ours by embracing upcycling, treasure hunting for pre-loved items, and supporting local producers". You’ll find elements throughout our cabins and communal spaces that have been lovingly repurposed, telling a unique story and reducing waste that would otherwise end up in landfill. This approach not only helps the environment but also adds to the rustic charm and authentic character of Lake Pleasant Farm.

Rooted in Community: Supporting Local

Being a family-run regenerative cattle farm means we understand the value of strong community ties. We actively support local producers and champion responsible tourism. From the generous welcome basket filled with local delights awaiting your arrival to the ingredients we use for special events, we strive to source from our neighbours and regional businesses. This not only strengthens our local economy but also ensures you experience the true flavour and craftsmanship of Central Queensland.

A Holistic Approach to a Healthier Planet

Ultimately, our aim is to actively minimise waste and maximise harmony with nature. By integrating passive design, off-grid systems, a dedicated approach to reuse and recycling, and a strong commitment to local support, we strive to offer an immersive experience that is truly regenerative. It’s about more than just a place to stay; it’s an invitation to connect with a way of life that nurtures the land, supports our community, and inspires a lighter footprint. We believe that sharing how regenerative agriculture can address climate change, build climate resilience, and improve soil, food, and human health is paramount.

We look forward to welcoming you to Lake Pleasant Farm, where every stay contributes to a healthier planet.
